Ambrose doesn't want to talk about uncertain future

Many want to already hand the trophy to Marcos Ambrose for this race, but he's being very cautious with his optimism. Ambrose has won two of the last three races here and could have potentially made it three in-a-row if it weren't for a wreck at the end of last year's race.

"You know it won’t be easy," said Ambrose Friday. "There are going to be 10 to 12 guys out there that have a shot to win the race." Ambrose also noted that a top five wouldn't be all that bad either, seeing that he could still fight his way into the Chase via points. He is currently 49 points outside the provisional cut-off at the moment. However, a victory would lock him in and immediately take away all the pressure as the Chase nears.

Yesterday, Ambrose had just one thing to say about his future and that was nothing. "I absolutely haven't even thought about that. We have a big week this week trying to make the Chase for the No. 9 team and that is all I am focused on."

On past races here, the Aussie summed it up in one sentence; "I've been in Victory Lane by being lucky, I've been there deserving it and I've lost races here that I deserved to win."

Marcos Ambrose goes into this race confident, but with tempered optimism and his mind set on one goal; winning. He has never made the Chase in his Sprint Cup career.
