Austin Dillon leads final practice for All-Star Race
Austin Dillon topped the final practice Friday among drivers already qualified for the Monster Energy NASCAR All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Dillon, who earned his first NASCAR Cup Series victory at Charlotte in 2017, posted the fastest average lap speed (179.450 mph) in the final practice session among All-Star Race participants.
Ryan Blaney was second (178.560 mph) and Clint Bowyer was third (178.336 mph). Joey Logano and Denny Hamlin completed the top-five.
Rounding out the top-10 were Kevin Harvick, Erik Jones, Aric Almirola, Ryan Newman and Kyle Busch.
Following the regular practice, teams were allowed to take part in pit stop practice. Qualifying for the All-Star Race is the only one of the year which includes a four-tire pit stop as part of the qualifying process and also no speed limit on pit road.
