Ford drivers Carl Edwards and David Gilliland spoke about their days after the afternoon test session at Bristol Motor Speedway.
CARL EDWARDS -- No. 99 Office Depot Ford Fusion
HOW HAS YOUR DAY GONE? "Today has been a little bit frustrating. We unloaded and thought we were real fast, but we just haven't been able to get the car to turn in the center yet. We've been watching some cars that are real fast and it seems like they're obviously turning in the center and we haven't figured out how to get the car to turn and not rub the valance or splitter."
WHAT KINDS OF THINGS ARE YOU TRYING? "We feel like we can unhook the rear of the car and make it turn, but we're trying all sorts of ways to try to get that front end to grip without taking grip away from the rear. It's gonna be a classic Bristol race. The guy who can keep it on the bottom and keep the throttle down, that's the guy that's gonna win this thing so we've got to get our car turning a little better."
DOES THIS CAR FEEL A LOT DIFFERENT FROM THE OTHER ONE? "Yeah, the car feels a little bit different. They move around a little more. It doesn't feel as stuck to the race track, I think it's because the springs are a little bigger and when you come off the corner you slide a little more and wiggle. It's kind of fun to drive. It's fun everywhere for me, except for the center of the corner where it won't turn, but it's gonna be a great race."

DAVID GILLILAND -- No. 38 M&M's Ford Fusion
YOU HIT THE WALL AT THE START OF THE SECOND PRACTICE. WHAT HAPPENED? "After the first practice session we put brake ducts on the car and it rubbed a hole through the tire, so we cut a right-front tire down. That was unfortunate, but we're just working and chasing the track a little bit. The track seemed like it tightened up once it cooled down and got rubber on it. We were good in the first practice and in the second practice we were a little tight, so we've just been chasing it, but we're working on it."
WHAT THINGS ARE YOU LEARNING THAT WILL HELP IN A FEW WEEKS? "Just the car. With the splitter and the way it's designed and the height, it's really limiting our travel, so we're just trying to learn how to control the travel the best way. There are three or four different ways to go about it, so this is just a perfect opportunity for us to try all the different ways of controlling the travel."
HOW DOES THIS CAR FEEL FROM THE OTHER ONE? "I've only raced here one other time, but I really can't notice a difference. I think the race will be better. I think everybody is a little more even now as far as time-wise and I think it will be a better race."
ONE THEME SEEMS TO BE CARS BOUNCING ON THE TRACK AND MAYBE NEEDING TO GIVE GUYS MORE ROOM IN THE CORNERS. DO YOU AGREE? "I think that's just the track. It's no different than it was the last time we raced here. As far as it being a different type of race, I don't think it's going to be any different than it's always been."
