Dale Jarrett on Bristol Motor Speedway
"Bristol is just an exciting race for the fans and competitors. I don't think there's anybody that doesn't get excited about going to Bristol. It's a frustrating, and fun place to race. I think one of the things that make it so exciting is the 160,000 fans that are crammed in here, and it just gets your adrenaline going. With all of the new tracks being built around the country, I've always wondered why someone doesn't build something like Bristol because there's never an unsold seat at Bristol."

Jarrett Looks Forward to Bristol Challenge
Bristol Motor Speedway provides some of the most anticipated racing, and yet some of the most feared on the NASCAR Winston Cup Series schedule. It's an anything-goes kind of place, and one in which teams expect the unexpected. The track is taxing on both the team and driver as the team tries to find the right balance for a race set-up, and the driver prepares for speeds in the 100 mph-range on a track with banking in the turns at 36 degrees.

"The thing that makes Bristol so tough is that there is usually a preferred line at Bristol and you have 43 guys trying to get in the same line," Jarrett said. "Everyone is going for the same line. A lot of times there are guys who are quite a bit slower than you that get in that line and there's nothing you can do, other than just being patient and choosing the right time to make your move. It really is one of the more difficult places that we race. It's hard on the drivers both mentally and physically so when you leave there with a win or top-five finish you know that you've really accomplished something."

Jarrett's best Bristol performances have taken place since he joined Robert Yates Racing in 1995. Jarrett has been in 16 Winston Cup races at Bristol since 1995, and has scored one win, eight top fives and 11 top 10s.

In his 33 starts at Bristol, Jarrett has led the field for a total of 543 laps.

Parrott Prepares a New Car for Bristol
Although the 2002 Bristol races weren't nice to the #88 UPS Racing team, crew chief Brad Parrott is looking forward to the 500-mile race this weekend. Parrott looks to break the race down by segments, and hopes to have a racecar that is still in tact for the final 100-lap sprint at the end of the race.

"Track position is key at Bristol," Parrott said. "We'll probably make around four pit stops there. With 500 laps, we need to get through each 100-lap segment. The important thing is getting through the race and having all the fenders still on the car. Dale has run good there in the past, obviously last year he had some bad luck during the race. We're taking a brand new race car that was built specifically for Bristol. So, I'm really looking forward to it."
