Roundup To Sponsor Carl Edwards and No. 99 Roush Racing Team at Bristol
CONCORD, N.C. (August 24, 2004) - Roush Racing announced today that Roundup FastAct* weed and grass control, will team up once again with Roush Racing when they sponsor rookie Carl Edwards and the No. 99 Roush Racing Ford. Roundup will appear as the primary sponsor on the car this weekend under the lights at Bristol Motor Speedway marking the sixth race in 2004 that Roundup has sponsored the team.
"I'm looking forward to having Roundup and Scotts on the No. 99 Ford for this Saturday's race," said Edwards. "Roundup has teamed with Roush Racing in the past and we are all excited to have them back on the car under the lights at Bristol. We had a great run last weekend and we want to continue that momentum with Roundup on the car this Saturday."
Both Roundup and Scotts appeared on the No. 99 Roush Racing Ford earlier this year at Talladega, California, Richmond and Lowe's Motor Speedway. It was a successful test run for the brands that ultimately led them to sponsor the No. 99 Ford once again at Bristol.
"Roundup FastAct® weed and grass control and Scotts are excited by the opportunity to continue to explore 2005 NASCAR opportunities with the Roush organization. Carl Edwards did a fantastic job on behalf of the No. 99 team and Roush Racing last weekend at Michigan, and we are delighted to have a chance to participate with Roush in the continuing development of this talented driver" says Vito Boscaino, Vice President, Strategy and Business Development, Scotts. "We wish Carl the best of luck in battling Bristol this weekend."
