"I'm really looking forward to going back to Bristol. We had a really good car in the spring race; however, we had an alternator problem that caused us to go a lap down. We were able to get our lap back, but it ended up draining the battery, which robbed us of the good finish were capable of. We're bringing the same car back to Bristol for this race and I'm excited about it. It was awesome handling and really fast, so I know we'll have a great shot at victory lane this weekend."
- Ward Burton, driver of the Caterpillar Dodge, on the spring race at Bristol this year.

SPECIAL PAINT SCHEME: Ward Burton and the No. 22 Caterpillar Racing team will be running a special paint scheme for this weekend's event at Bristol Motor Speedway, paying tribute to all of the CAT Dealers in the United States and Canada. The car is called the Caterpillar "Flames" car, and the CAT Dealers will be showcased on the rear quarter panels of the car, as well as having all the dealer's names listed on the decklid. The car is painted black, instead of the trademark yellow, and will have reflective decals for the night racing. The paint scheme will also be run at the upcoming night race at Richmond International Raceway on September 7, 2002.

"I'm just really happy that Caterpillar does something like this (the special paint scheme) to show their support to the CAT dealers," said Burton. "The CAT dealers are big supporters of the race program this is something neat that CAT and the race team can do especially for them."

NIGHT RACING AT BRISTOL: Burton makes his ninth Bristol night race start this weekend.

"There is nothing like racing at Bristol under the lights," said Burton. "I don't think there is any other race that has that kind of energy surrounding it. The fans are just completely awesome and I don't think I ever get used to seeing that many people packed in such a small place. Racing at night does remind me of the short track racing I did growing up under the lights, but never in front of a crowd like Bristol has."

EQUIPMENT: The CAT race team is taking a car to Bristol that competed earlier this year at the sprint event in Bristol and the Dover event in June.
