Notes: Both the NASCAR Nextel Cup and Busch Series will run the same tire codes at Bristol this weekend . . . this is the first time Goodyear has brought this specific combination of left- and right-side tires to the track . . . both the left- and right-side codes feature different mold types, construction and compounds from what Goodyear brought to Bristol last year . . . unlike on other NASCAR ovals one mile or less in length, teams are required to run inner liners in their right-side tires only at Bristol . . . air pressure in those inner liners should be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire.
Goodyear Quote -- Mark Keto, Lead Engineer, Stock Car Racing: "The most important thing about this week at Bristol is that it will be the first race for NASCAR's Car of Tomorrow. Testing has shown that the COT is slightly harder on right-side tires so we have toughened up the compounds, in addition to bringing a new construction and mold shape to Bristol this year. Everything looked good at the Open House test a few weeks ago, so we expect good results this weekend."
