Notes: Both the NASCAR Nextel Cup and Busch Series will run the same tire codes this weekend . . . it is the same tire set-up that was run by Cup and Truck Series teams last weekend at the track . . . 2005 is the first year that Goodyear has brought this specific combination of left- and right-side tires to Charlotte . . . this is the only track at which NASCAR teams will run this right-side tire code (D-6876) this season, though the left-side code (D-6852) will be run at California, Michigan, Chicago, and Kansas . . . as on all NASCAR ovals greater than one mile in length, teams are required to run inner liners in their tires at Charlotte . . . air pressure in those inner liners should be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire.

Goodyear Quote -- Mark Keto, Lead Engineer, Stock Car Racing: "We originally tested at Lowes Motor Speedway with Bobby Labonte and Joe Nemechek last October and developed a new speedway tire set-up for 2005. It features a new, softer compound on both sides, and was developed for Lowes, Fontana, Chicago, Kansas City, Michigan and Kentucky. When we learned of the track grinding that took place, we had to test again in March of this year and develop a new set-up specifically for Lowes."
