Notes: Both the NASCAR Nextel Cup and Busch Series will run the same tire codes this weekend at Chicagoland . . . this is the first time Goodyear has brought this specific combination of left-and right-side tires to this track . . . this is the same tire set-up that Nextel Cup teams ran earlier this season at California and Michigan . . . teams will also run this combination at those two tracks, as well as at Kansas in the second half of 2005 . . . as on all NASCAR ovals greater than one mile in length, teams are required to run inner liners in their tires at Chicagoland . . . the inflation in those inner liners should be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire.
Goodyear Quote -- Mark Keto, Lead Engineer, Stock Car Racing: "This year's set-up at Chicago features softer compounds on both sides compared to 2004. This is primarily to give cars more grip to make up for the difference in the aerodynamic package from last year."
