Notes: This is the first time Goodyear has brought this combination of left- and right-side tires to the track . . . all three NASCAR series -- Nextel Cup, Busch and Craftsman Truck -- will run the same tire codes this weekend, though the Cup and Busch tires will be branded "Goodyear Eagle," while the Truck tires will be branded "Goodyear Wrangler" . . . Cup teams are also scheduled to run these codes at Michigan in two weeks . . . unlike on other NASCAR ovals one mile or less in length, teams are required to run inner liners in all four tire positions at Dover . . . air pressure in those inner liners should be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire.
Goodyear Quote -- Mark Keto, Lead Engineer, Stock Car Racing: "This set-up features new and improved constructions over last year, as well as slightly tougher compounds on both sides to improve treadwear. We tested extensively with these new constructions -- at Texas and Atlanta in January and at Charlotte in March -- and had great results."
