Notes: This is the second consecutive NASCAR Nextel Cup race weekend that Goodyear has brought this specific tire combination to Phoenix . . . this right-side code (D-6832) was also run at the track last November with a different left-side code . . . all three series in action this weekend -- Nextel Cup, Busch and Craftsman Truck -- will run the same tire codes, though the Cup and Busch tires will be branded "Goodyear Eagle," while the truck tires will be branded "Goodyear Wrangler" . . . as on most NASCAR ovals one mile or less in length, teams will not run inner liners in their tires at Phoenix.
Goodyear Quote -- Mark Keto, Lead Engineer, Stock Car Racing: "This will be the third consecutive race for this particular right-side tire at Phoenix, while this left-side was introduced for improved performance during the spring race of this year, so we expect another good weekend for this particular set-up. These same codes are also used at Loudon, Richmond, Gateway, IRP, Pikes Peak, Milwaukee and Memphis, so the teams have a lot of experience with the performance of this set-up."
