Notes: This is the second consecutive race Goodyear will bring this particular combination of left- and right-side tires to Richmond . . . both the NASCAR Nextel Cup and Busch Series will compete on the same tire codes this week . . . this eighth and final race in which Nextel Cup teams will have used this tire set-up in 2004 . . . in addition to Richmond, this combination was run by Cup teams at Las Vegas, Bristol, Pocono and Indianapolis . . . Busch and Truck Series teams have also run this set-up at Nashville in 2004 . . . as on all NASCAR ovals less than one mile in length, teams will not run inner liners at Richmond.

Goodyear Quote -- Mark Keto, Lead Engineer, Stock Car Tire Development: "Since Richmond had been repaved since last season, we tested earlier this year with several teams to finalize our recommendation. The (Nextel) Cup race this May was excellent as far as the tires were concerned. Considering that it was green track, the second groove came in relatively quickly, allowing for side-by-side racing by the Cup cars."
