No. 12 Penske Dodge Charger News and Notes

* This Week's Charger... The No. 12 Penske Dodge team will use chassis PRS-595 during Sunday's 600-mile event at Lowe's Motor Speedway. PRS-595 last saw racing action at Atlanta Motor Speedway in March where it crossed the finish line in the 23rd position.

* Top-10 Result... Driver David Stremme has posted a top-10 result at the 1.5-mile Lowe's Motor Speedway in the past. In the fall of 2006, Stremme started 28th but charged his way to the front and brought his Dodge home in the ninth spot.

* New Coach... Penske Racing has added a new member to its team. Sean Powell has joined the organization as head strength and conditioning coach. Powell comes to Penske Racing from the NFL's Carolina Panthers where he worked for eight seasons with the team. Powell's day-to-day responsibilities include creating and executing workouts for the entire Penske Racing organization.

* Last Time Out... Last Saturday night, Stremme and the No.12 Penske Dodge, started the 40-lap NASCAR Showdown from the pole position. Stremme led the first 25 laps at Lowe's Motor Speedway before relinquishing the lead to teammate Sam Hornish, Jr. Hornish went on to win the event, marking his first NASCAR victory. Stremme wound up in the third position when the checkered flag flew.

David Stremme on racing in the Coca-Cola 600

"It is the longest race of the season. Mentally it is draining. You start the race during the early evening when the sun is still out and race until almost midnight. Those last 100 miles are really tough. If your car is not handling well during the day, it typically will get better as the sun does down. We have to be careful not to over adjust on the car early in the race. We had a really good car (at the Showdown) last weekend and learned some things that will certainly transfer to Sunday's race. I am excited and ready to get going."

Crew chief Roy McCauley on the Coca-Cola 600

"Our goal this weekend is to stay out of trouble all day and bring our Dodge home in the top-15. David [Stremme] did a great job last weekend at the All-Star event and we learned quite a few things which will help us on Sunday. The middle groove seemed to be fast and our setup seemed to work really well there. It is such a long race and we just need to keep our nose clean and get to the finish."
