Stremme Lines Up 35th For Sunday's 600-Mile Race
CONCORD, N.C. (May 21, 2009) -- David Stremme driver of the No.12 Penske Dodge Charger, secured the 35th starting position for Sunday's 600-mile event at the 1.5-mile Lowe's Motor Speedway.
During Thursday night's qualifying session, Stremme posted a fast lap time of 29.174 seconds at a speed of 185.096 miles per hour. His qualifying effort put him on the inside of the 18th row for the start of the longest race of the season.
"We're definitely missing on something with the race car today," commented Stremme after his run. "We were in qualifying trim all practice and just couldn't get a handle on the car. I screwed up turns 1 and 2, during qualifying but the car was so tight that I just couldn't get it to rotate. I know we have a really strong race package. We saw that last week. We just need to work on our qualifying package so we don't have to pass as many cars."
