Team Chevy Drivers Set for Sunday's Coca Cola 600
Three Impala SS Drivers Score Top-10 Starting Spots; 14 Chevys in the Field for the Season's Longest Race
Concord, NC -- May 22, 2008 -- The field is set for Sunday's running of the Coca Cola 600 at Lowe's Motor Speedway. Dale Earnhardt, Jr., No. 88 National Guard/AMP Energy Impala SS, Mark Martin, No. 8 U.S. Army Impala SS and Jimmie Johnson, No. 48 Lowe's Impala SS will start sixth, seventh and 10th respectively for the 400-lap/600-mile race, the longest on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule.
A total of 14 Impala SS drivers, more than any other manufacturer, will start the event scheduled to take the green flag at 5:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
Live coverage will be provided by FOX TV, PRN Radio and Sirius Satellite Radio.

MARK MARTIN, NO. 8 U.S.ARMY IMPALA SS, QUALIFIED 7th:
"It is just a privilege to drive for Tony Gibson and everyone at DEI and this U.S. Army team. To have "Salute to the Troops' on the car this weekend and have everyone in motorsports is really supporting it, is a good thing.
"Tony and the guys really gave me a great race car. I am not going to complain about the draw we had because you get good ones and bad ones. We have some not-so-great cars with good draws and got some good starting spots this year. That effort isn't going to hurt us with the car so good. We have knocked a few guys down behind us so we will take what we can get."

DALE EARNHARDT, JR., NO. 88 NATIONAL GUARD/AMP ENERGY IMPALA SS, QUALIFIED 6th:
"That was a pretty good lap for us. It is just such a good feeling to know every time we unload we have a shot at being on the pole and win the race.
"Just to be at Hendrick Motorsports, work out of that shop with the talent they have and working with the resources they have is amazing to show up every week feeling like we are going to run good gives us a lot of confidence. It certainly gives you a better outlook and a better disposition. Mainly, I am just a happier person all the way around.
"Sunday night I don't think it will be so tough physically, but mentally it will be - just staying with the car. Working with the car. The car is going to be a challenge. Just mentally trying to talk yourself in to working that hard, for that long of a period of time. Those last 100 miles are really, really tough. You have to just continually remind yourself what is at stake. It is going to be a challenge, but we are up to the challenge. We have a good team, good car. We just need to make the thing a little better on long runs. Some things came to the surface in the All-Star race that we need to work on and we are going to try and fix 'em."
