Hermie Sadler, FanZCar Qualifies 26th at Darlington

DARLINGTON, SC - - Hermie Sadler driving the No. 02 The FanZCar Chevrolet Monte Carlo will hope to rocket his way towards the front after the SCORE Motorsports team qualified 26th for Saturday's fourth NASCAR Busch Series event of the season.

SCORE Motorsports along with the other 44 NASCAR Busch Series teams hit the track early on Friday for the first of two-practice sessions. Sadler whipped his machine around the track In 30.194 seconds amounting to a speed of 162.867 MPH. Hermie's fastest lap came on lap eighth of the session. It took 12 circuits for Sadler to hang it up for the morning and would turn his attention towards time trials.

"We would have liked to qualify better than that, but we're in the show and we were faster," said Sadler following qualifying. "There is always room for improvement and we're going to make some changes in hopes of scoring our first top ten of the finish tomorrow," he continued.

Sadler maneuvered his machine around the "new" Darlington Speedway in 30.062 seconds, or 163.582 MPH. Kyle Busch in the No. 5 Lowes Chevrolet took the pole with a time of 29.164 seconds transferring to a speed of 168.619 MPH.

"Kyle Busch is fast, but I'm hoping that experience will pay off for The FanZCar team this weekend," Hermie mentioned.

Hermie Sadler out qualified several classy veterans for Darlington's first racing event of the season. Starting behind the No. 02 include: Joe Nemechek (27th), Tim Fedewa (30th), Derrike Cope (32nd), Damon Lusk (33rd), Steve Grissom (34th), and Mike Harmon (35th).

In Happy Hour, the final practice session before the race, Sadler racked in the 24th place position. He turned a lap of 30.736 seconds making a speed of 159.995 MPH. The machine was on the track for 12 laps. Greg Biffle set the fastest time with a speed of 163.528 MPH, leaving Hermie a little more than a half-second off the pace.

Zapf Creation, and Jenkins & Jenkins Law Firm, will join The FanZCar machine as associate sponsors for Saturday's afternoon race.

The Diamond Hill Plywood 200 is the fourth of 34 events on the 2004 NASCAR Busch Series schedule. Practice and qualifying are on the agenda this Friday, March 15th, with the race set to take the green flag Saturday, March 20th. FX will air the event live beginning at 12:30 PM EST, with MRN handling the airwaves beginning also at 12:30 PM EST.
