Bobby Hamilton, No. 55 Schneider Electric Chevrolet Monte Carlo - involved in multi-car crash during Practice 3, and will go to a back-up car.

"I think Brett (Bodine) got tight or loose or something and either bumped the fence or something. All we could do was turn left to try and get up under it. We did that and I rubbed him a little bit and it broke my momentum and then the No. 99 hit me, or the No. 20, or something."

Q: With such a good racecar, is it hard to put it on the truck?
"It's not a big deal. We ran sixth or seventh in the 4th of July race and with this particular car (back-up) and wrecked on pit road and bent us up pretty bad there. All Andy Petree Racing's stuff is equal. We'll be in pretty good shape. This is our first race with Schneider Electric and we'll be okay."

Q: Are you frustrated about what just happened?
"Nope. I'm not real happy with the way the rules are. But the drivers are complaining and they're trying to satisfy a lot of drivers. But now, you can't let off the gas no matter what. You're going to be in trouble and you're not going to be able to hang on. And that's not a good situation."

Q: If you see something in front of you, can you even lift?
"If there's something going on in front of you and you lift, then all of a sudden ten cars pass and you can't hold on to the draft. We run a 70 lap Shootout and three or four cars were down a lap."

Q: Does the rules package cause wrecks or do the drivers cause wrecks?
"Well, Jeff Burton said he just lost his car in turns three and four one time. He was just running along there and spun out. I ain't never seen that before. It's hard. I'd hate to try to write the rules to make it equal for everybody because everybody has different racecars. People build a junk racecar, a decent racecar, a good racecar and the rules are not going to apply to everybody. They'll just keep hunting until we've got a speed factor we're trying to keep in the equation. We don't need to run real fast because we're concerned about the fans and drivers too at this point. Nobody got hurt out there, we just tore some stuff up."
