KYLE PETTY (No. 45 Sprint Dodge Intrepid R/T)
COMMENT ON ACCIDENT IN MORNING PRACTICE

"They said one of the cars was running in the middle of the track when we came off turn two. Everybody checked up and it just compounded. I got into the back of Terry and Marcis got in the back of me and that was all it was. We were changing engines anyhow, so that didn't make a difference. It tore up the nose more than anything. The quarterpanel is not bad. I'm not into that (rule changes) this week. They've given so much to so many that it doesn't make any difference any more."

CASEY ATWOOD (No. 7 Sirius Satellite Radios Dodge Intrepid R/T)
NOTE: Atwood was 11 fastest in morning practice session.

"We had motor problems today. The motor was running real hot. Our car wasn't running as good as it was yesterday. I think we blew a head gasket or something. That time sheet really doesn't matter. I'm sure the quarter inch is going to help, but I couldn't really tell today."

JOHN ANDRETTI (No. 43 Cheerios Dodge Intrepid R/T)
NOTE: Andretti was sixth fastest in morning practice session.

"We're trying to get our car working better and it is. It might be because of that quarter-inch deal on the spoiler. We made some big changes, and the car is steering better. It still seems really hard to run with the other cars. They pile up against you, you're pretty much the Lone Ranger. I got behind the 28 today, but he could just run barely quick enough, and I was holding the 8 car off like crazy. The 8 had a lot more than we had, but we were two cars in front of him. If I had been a single car in front of him, it might not be a prayer. Look at the chassis dyno numbers, and there's a difference there, too. We're going to get better with the motors. The engine program has just been born. They've done an unbelievable job. I can lead if I can get up there and make it single file. If they make it double and you get somebody on the outside of you that's quicker, they're going to pile up behind him. If we go single file, I think we've got a car that will handle well enough to do all the things it needs to do. We've just got to get a little more speed now. It's Daytona, so we'll do whatever we can to win."
