* Kahne spent Tuesday participating in the grand opening of the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, N.C. His team owner, Richard Petty, is one of five members of the inaugural class that will be inducted into the Hall on Sunday, May 23.
* On Thursday, Kahne is scheduled to participate in the Drive for Autism Celebrity-Am Golf Tournament in Delaware.
* Kahne will pull double duty again this weekend at Dover, competing in both the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and NASCAR Nationwide Series races. He will drive the No. 38 entry in the Nationwide Series race on Saturday. Last weekend at Darlington, Kahne finished fourth in the No. 38.
Kasey Kahne discusses racing at Dover and the NASCAR Hall of Fame:
What are the keys to a good finish at Dover? "The key is having a car that can still handle well 30-40 laps into a run and staying out of trouble. Dover is an easy place to get in trouble and once you are in trouble, it's a place that can end your day in a hurry. It's definitely one of the more mentally and physically demanding tracks that we go to."
Dover's concrete surface and the high banking put a lot of emphasis on the front end of the car. Is this a track where communication with Kenny Francis is more important compared to other tracks? "It is....but it's also one of those places that if you unload (the race car) and you're off, you can get better, but you'll never get to where you want to be. On a race weekend here, you're package needs to be close when you start practice or you'll never really get there for some reason."
You've been to Victory Lane with Richard Petty. What are your thoughts on seeing him be part of the inaugural induction class for the NASCAR Hall of Fame? "It's pretty awesome. I really like Richard Petty and respect what he's done for this sport and auto racing. He definitely deserves to be part of that right off the start. To me, I've always thought of him as one of our top personalities, top racers and top guys behind this sport from when it started. He's a big part of the history of this sport and I think that's where he deserves to be."
Is the NASCAR Hall of Fame something you're striving for one day? "I think everybody will want to be in there because it's going to be such an awesome place to go and look at everything to do with NASCAR from the past to the present. I think it would definitely be a good spot to be, and I'm excited I get to be a part of the grand opening plans throughout this month. I think it's going to be a lot of fun."
