STATESVILLE, N.C-- No. 43 Air Force Dodge driver Reed Sorenson knows a few extra eyes will be upon him this weekend a Dover International Speedway which is just a few miles north of the nearly 70-year-old Dover Air Force Base. The Richard Petty Motorsports team plans to host Air Force personnel during the NASCAR Sprint Cup race weekend and the crew will tour visit the base that operates the massive C-5 Galaxy planes and visit the Air Mobility Command Museum.

Sorenson has enjoyed some success at Dover. He led 39 laps in the fall race in 2006 and two laps in the fall 2007 race. He has completed all but 30 laps in his six Dover starts.

SORENSON ON DOVER AIR FORCE BASE --"It's pretty cool to get a chance to visit Air Force bases. This year I have got to see a lot of the behind the scenes stuff and its pretty amazing. There are a ton of similarities between the racing world and their world. I love the technological stuff the best. The training and the skill level those people need to fly those planes and operate that equipment is amazing. I got to fly in a jet this year and that's an experience I'll never forget. I've learned a lot of from the Air Force."

SORENSON ON DOVER INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY--"Dover is a tough track. There's a reason they call it the Monster Mile. Its got speed, banking and when things go wrong there isn't a whole lot of room to avoid anything. I think the key to doing well there begins on Friday. Dover is a place where you need to make sure you get a good qualifying spot so you can pick a good pit stall. Once you do that, I think the key is to stay out front, make sure you avoid trouble in the pits and then get lucky you don't get into a problem on the track."

RICHARD PETTY-- SEVEN-TIME DOVER WINNER-- "A lot of race fans don't realize how fast Dover really is. Your going over 150 mph on a mile track. That's fast. You don't have a lot of time to react when things go on in front of you. The turns are big and wide but the straight-aways are pretty narrow. You see a lot of multi-car wrecks because of that. Who ever wins at Dover usually deserves it because there's lot of things that can go wrong."

* Sorenson will drive chassis 263 at Dover.
