NASCAR Fans E-mail List
Things are always pretty slow on an off week and this one is not exception. I've not come across that much news until this morning and that is the reason that the reports have been a little scarce lately. No Wed. Stats because there is no race. Just thought I'd remind you. Coverage will also be scares starting Wednesday of next week, I will be taking vaction and leaving you in the very capable hands of Henry and Mike. I'm sure they can keep you well informed in my absentence. On with the news of the day.
NASCAR Sponsor possibilities
In the aftermath of the settlement, I've heard alot of names mentioned in the hunt for a new replacement for the Winston Cup. A part of this story that everyone seems to be missing is what about RJR, I see them heading back to the international areas such as F1. Names that have been mentioned as replacement are Nike, Reebok, Anheuser-Busch (until they are run off), McDonalds, and Disney. The one more people are McDonalds, and Disney.
Dale Jarrett and Coca Cola Sponsorship (Jayski)
I now hear that Coka Cola will not be on the #88 this year as rumored in the past. Supposedly Coke cannot put anything on the #88 this year because of conflicts with Ocean Spray on Dale Jarrett's BGN car.
Rusty and the Taurus (Jayski)
Robin Pemberton (Rusty Wallace crew chief) said on NASCAR Live Tuesday(6-24) night that they have built a Ford Taurus and have been working on it it for three months. He said NASCAR has been looking at it and they have made a few changes to it. But NASCAR has NOT approved the Taurus yet.
