Ernie Irvan's Las Vegas Motor Speedway Highlights... The 1999 Las Vegas 400 will be Irvan's fourth start at the 1.5-mile Las Vegas Motor Speedway. In addition to his 1998 Winston Cup start, Irvan competed in the 1996 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at Las Vegas where he led 76 laps before suffering engine trouble. Irvan also has one start at the track in a NASCAR Winston West car.

Irvan will sign autographs for the general public at "M&M's" World on Friday, March 5, from 6-8 p.m. to celebrate the opening of its "M&M's" Racing Team retail store. The store is located on the fourth floor of "M&M' s" World, a retail and entertainment complex celebrating America's favorite candy.

An authentic No. 36 "M&M's" Racing Pontiac will be on permanent display at "M&M's" World, along with Irvan's driving uniform and helmet. "M&M's" World is located at 3785 Las Vegas Boulevard South in the Showcase Mall, near the MGM Grand Hotel.

The "M&M's" Chocolate Candies race car lit up the tracks at the inaugural Las Vegas 400 in 1998 with a similar bright and colorful paint scheme.

Ernie Irvan's thoughts on racing at Las Vegas Motor Speedway... "Vegas has been a really good track to race on," said Ernie Irvan, driver of the "M&M's" Racing Pontiac. "It is not a follow-the-leader track, it's a track where you can race close, pass a lot and you can block drivers trying to pass you. The "M&M's" Pontiac is going to do really well at Las Vegas Motor Speedway."

"M&M's" Chocolate Candies Fascinating Fact... From 1941 to 1949 there were violet "M&M's" Plain Chocolate Candies. Violet was then replaced by tan.
