David Gilliland lost his full-time ride with Front Row Motorsports at the conclusion of the 2015 season.

But now, FRM will field a third car (No. 35) in the Daytona 500 for Gilliland. A sponsor will be revealed at a later date.

He will have to qualifying on time or race his way in via the Duels while teammates Landon Cassill and Chris Buescher are locked in, courtesy of the new charter system.

In 2010, Gilliland joined the Bob Jenkins-owned team, where he remained for the last five years. He lost his full-time gig with the team to Buescher in December of last year.

The 39-year-old posted a career-high second-place finish when he pushed his then FRM teammate David Ragan to the win in the 2013 Aaron’s 499 at Talladega.

In seven Daytona 500 starts, Gilliland has finished as high as third, doing so in 2011.
