Martinsville Speedway President Clay Campbell on his grandfather H. Clay Earles:

"My Grandfather played many roles in my life, all of which helped me mature. He was foremost family, but also my boss for twenty-one years. I was fortunate to have him to look up to for all those years. From my early childhood years, I was never further than a few steps behind him, shadowing his every move. He taught me many things about being a good businessman but most importantly, how to be a good person. The one thing he demanded most of all was honesty. I feel that is one trait my entire family acquired from him and for that we are thankful. We'll all miss him dearly, but rest knowing he's gone to a better place."

The H. Clay Earles family will receive guests at Collins McKee-Stone Funeral Home at 109 Broad St. in Martinsville on Wednesday, November 17 from 7-9 p.m. The funeral, also at Collins McKee-Stone Funeral Home, will be Thursday, November 18 at 11 a.m.
