Carl Edwards on racing at Homestead-Miami Speedway:

"It's our last chance to get a win in 2009. It's been a tough year. We've been working hard. Our mile and a half program is better now than it's been for a long time, so this race really is one that I feel we have a good shot of running well. Our history there is great. We won it last year. A Roush Fenway car has won almost every year that I've been doing this at this level. I have real high hopes going in there. We're just going to go until the last lap and give it a hundred percent with guns blazing. We're going for the win.Hopefully we'll get a shot at it."

Crew chief Bob Osborne on racing at Homestead-Miami Speedway:

"Homestead is a great track for Carl and we're taking the same car that he got a top-10 finish with at California last month. Without a doubt this has been a tough season for us so we are certainly hoping for a strong run at Homestead to give us some momentum to carry us through the off season. We won this race last year and that would be a perfect way to end the season for everyone on the Aflac team."

Fast Facts

* Carl Edwards will make his sixth NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start at Homestead-Miami Speedway in this weekend's Ford 400. In his previous five starts, Edwards has accumulated one win, three top-five, four top-10 finishes and one pole.

* ON THE TRACK...The Aflac team will be unloading chassis RK-669. Edwards raced this Ford Fusion most recently at Auto Club Speedway in October where he finished sixth.

* FOR THE RECORD...Edwards' average start at Homestead is 13.6, his average finish is 6.4 which is the best of all active drivers. He has also led a total of 251 laps there, third among active drivers.

* REWIND 2008...As the leaders began to run out of fuel or come to pit road for a splash of gas, Edwards inherited the race lead from Matt Kenseth with just three laps to go. With a 15-second lead over second place, Edwards backed off the throttle and did what he could to make it to the checkered flag. On the fourth turn of the final lap, Edwards reported that he was out of fuel. Fortunately he kept enough momentum to make it to the checkered flag, 7.5 seconds before runner-up Kevin Harvick for his ninth win of the season.

* STANDINGS...Edwards enters Homestead 11th in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series point standings, 44 markers behind 10th place. To date in 2009, Edwards has accumulated seven top-five and 13 top-10 finishes.
