Homestead Chevrolet Friday notes

STEVE PARK (No. 1 Pennzoil Chevrolet Monte Carlo)
Fresh off a third-place finish last week at Phoenix, Park will drive the same Monte Carlo that he raced in the first races this season at Atlanta, Lowe's Motor Speedway and Michigan. Since winning his first NASCAR Winston Cup race on Aug. 13, 2000 at Watkins Glen, Park has reeled off five top-five finishes and eight top 10s. He's 11th in the NASCAR Winston Cup Standings (NWCS) with two races remaining. He started 22nd and finished 19th last year at Homestead. DALE EARNHARDT (No. 3 GM Goodwrench Service Plus Monte Carlo)
Earnhardt will drive the same Monte Carlo he piloted earlier this season at Las Vegas, Fontana and the Pepsi Southern 500 at Darlington. Earnhardt qualified 23rd and finished eighth last year at Homestead. He finished ninth last week at Phoenix and holds second place in the series standings, 218 points behind Bobby Labonte with two races remaining. BOBBY HAMILTON (No. 4 Kodak MAX Film Chevrolet Monte Carlo)
Hamilton last raced his Homestead Monte Carlo at Dover. Hamilton started 28th and finished 25th last year at Homestead. He finished 43rd last week at Phoenix and ranks 31st in the NWCS.

BOBBY HAMILTON Jr. (No. 57 Bobby Hamilton Racing Monte Carlo)
Hamilton Jr. will attempt to qualify for his first NASCAR Winston Cup race at Homestead. He'll drive a Monte Carlo that his father bought from Morgan-McClure Motorsports. It's a '99 Monte Carlo that Hamilton Sr. drove at Charlotte last year with a new body built at Bobby Hamilton's truck shop. TERRY LABONTE (No. 5 Kellogg's Chevrolet Monte Carlo)
Labonte will drive the same Monte Carlo he piloted to a 17th-place finish last week at Phoenix. He also raced it at Martinsville earlier this season. Labonte finished 31st last season at Homestead. He ranks 18th in the NWCS despite missing two races this season. MICHAEL WALTRIP (No. 7 NationsRent Chevrolet Monte Carlo)
Waltrip will drive the same Monte Carlo that he piloted in the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Waltrip finished 36th last year at Homestead, 32nd last week at Phoenix and ranks 27th in the NWCS. JEFF GORDON (No. 24 DuPont Automotive Finishes Monte Carlo)
Gordon will drive a brand new Monte Carlo at Homestead, chassis No. 2450. He tested it at Homestead on Oct. 24 and 25. Gordon started and finished 10th last year at Homestead. He's coming off a seventh-place finish last week at Phoenix and ranks ninth in the NWCS. JERRY NADEAU (No. 25 Micheal Holigan.com Chevrolet Monte Carlo)
Nadeau drove his Homestead Monte Carlo earlier this year at both Pocono races, Fontana and Las Vegas. He finished 38th last year at Homestead, 23rd last week at Phoenix and ranks 23rd in the NWCS. JOE NEMECHEK (No. 33 Oakwood Homes Chevrolet Monte Carlo)
Nemechek will drive his Coca-Cola 600 Monte Carlo at Homestead. Nemechek finished 21st last year at Homestead. He finished 24th last week at Phoenix and ranks 15th in the NWCS. STERLING MARLIN (No. 40 Coors Light Chevrolet Monte Carlo)
Marlin will drive the same Monte Carlo he piloted in the second races this season at Richmond and New Hampshire. Marlin is ranked 19th in the NWCS. He started 26th and finished 17th last year at Homestead. TED MUSGRAVE (No. 01 BellSouth Chevrolet Monte Carlo)
Musgrave will drive the same Monte Carlo that he raced in the Pepsi Southern 500 at Darlington and the second race this season at Dover. Musgrave started 41st and finished 42nd last year at Homestead. RICKY CRAVEN (No. 50 Midwest Transit Chevrolet Monte Carlo)
Craven will drive the same Monte Carlo that finished 18th last week at Phoenix. He also drove it earlier this season at Las Vegas, New Hampshire, Martinsville and Richmond. Craven finished 32nd last year at Homestead and ranks 44th in the NWCS. HERMIE SADLER (No. 60 Power Team Chevrolet Monte Carlo)
Making his first Winston Cup start of the season, Sadler will drive chassis No. 44 out of the Bessey Motorsports stables. Geoffrey Bodine finished third with the car last year at Martinsville. DAVE MARCIS (No. 71 Realtree Chevrolet Monte Carlo).
Marcis last drove his Homestead Monte Carlo at Darlington and finished 23rd in the Pepsi Southern 500. Marcis, a 59-year-old NASCAR veteran, did not race at Homestead last year. KENNY WALLACE (No. 55 Square D Chevrolet Monte Carlo)
Wallace will drive chassis No. 21 at Homestead, the same Monte Carlo that competed in the second race this season at Charlotte. Wallace finished 15th in '99 at Homestead, 19th last week at Phoenix and ranks 28th in the NWCS.

DALE EARNHARDT Jr. (No. 8 Budweiser Chevrolet Monte Carlo)
Earnhardt Jr. will drive the same Monte Carlo that finished 27th last week at Phoenix. He'll make his first start at Homestead ranked 16th in the NWCS. MIKE SKINNER (No. 31 Lowe's Chevrolet Monte Carlo)
Skinner will drive the same Monte Carlo that finished ninth earlier this season in the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis. Skinner also drove it in the second races this season at Michigan and Lowe's Motor Speedway. The team tested it recently at Homestead. Skinner led the way for Team Monte Carlo last year at Homestead with a sixth-place finish. He finished 11th at Phoenix and ranks 12th in the NWCS.
