Tony Stewart again tops the speed charts as final test session concludes.

MIAMI, FL (11/5/02) -NASCAR Winston Cup Series points leader Tony Stewart topped the speed charts for the second consecutive day at the final test session before Ford Championship Weekend November 14-17 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Stewart and five other drivers tested under sunny skies, temperatures in the low 80's and a slight breeze.

"I'm looking forward to coming back here next week," Stewart said. "This is a place we've run well at, so for us it's a confidence boost to know that the last race of the year is one we've run well at. We won here the first two years and last year we dominated before we had tire problems. We enjoy coming here but the obvious question is 'Why do we come here to test considering we've been so good here?' We just want to try to make sure we stay as good as we've been."

Stewart, who has maintained all season long while in pursuit of his first NASCAR Winston Cup Series title that he would always race to win. Now that a title is in within his grasp, his strategy may change at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

"When we get here, we'll be points racing," said Stewart. "The last race of the year, you points race."

Two other drivers tested NASCAR Winston Cup cars (NWC) and three drivers tested NASCAR Busch Series cars (NBS) on the 1.5-mile track.

Driver, Car#/Series, Fastest Lap Time/Speed (according to Homestead-Miami timing and scoring):

Tony Stewart, No. 20 NWC, 36.30/148.670
Greg Biffle, No. 60 NBS, 36.59/147.581
Casey Atwood, No. 91 NWC, 36.63/147.420
Robert Pressley, No. 57 NWC, 36.70/147.139
Martin Truex, Jr., No. 156 NBS, 37.12/145.474
Mike McLaughlin, No. 18 NBS, 37.22/145.083
