Indianapolis: Carl Edwards preview

Carl Edwards on racing at Indianapolis Motor Speedway:

"After a second-place finish at Chicago I feel really good about our chances at Indy. The new FR9 engine will be huge there and the guys have worked on that a lot. We've run second there before and I can only imagine what it would feel like to win there. For us we're going there to go for the win and at the very least we hope to build a bigger cushion on 13th in the points. Right now we've got some good momentum that we'd like to continue."

Crew Chief Bob Osborne on racing at Indianapolis Motor Speedway:

"Indy is such a cool place to race with tons of history. To win there and be among some of the greats that have kissed the bricks would be awesome. We are coming off a strong run in Chicago two weeks ago so we plan to keep that momentum going. We're taking a brand new car to Indy this weekend which we think will be very competitive."

CARL EDWARDS enters Indy 10th in the NASCAR Sprint Cup point standings, 400 markers behind point leader Kevin Harvick. In 19 starts, Edwards has accumulated two top-five and eight top-10 finishes.

ON THE TRACK...The No. 99 Aflac team will be bringing chassis RK-695 to Indy. This is a brand new Ford Fusion.
