BILL ELLIOTT (No. 9 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Intrepid)

"We kept working on it and finally got it a little better. In the middle of the race we were terrible. We ran out of gas, and I wasn't very good either. It felt like I passed half the pack on those last nine laps. I don't know what NASCAR thinks, but why not at these long racetracks run one more lap, let us line up and leave lapped cars that have already run 149 laps and let us get going for nine laps at the end."

RYAN NEWMAN (No. 12 ALLTEL Dodge Intrepid)

"Running out of fuel obviously hurt us pretty big. We had a really fast racecar. It wasn't what Stewart had. He had a rocket, but it was a good effort. We had great pit stops with the exception of that one fuel deal. I know that wasn't them trying to stretch it. They just didn't quite get it packed with fuel as full as they wanted to or we were getting better mileage or running faster laps. I'm not sure, but that hurt us pretty bad. Getting caught a lap down there hurt, too. I'm pretty sure that I caught the yellow. There was debris on the track for a long time, and I don't know why they finally decided to throw the yellow flag. There was a little delay mentality there. We no doubt had a top-five car today. If we had been out front at the end we could have won. It's just one of those things. It's always going to be that way (car out front dictates the race) until they take the downforce off these things."

JIMMY SPENCER (No. 7 Sirius Satellite Radio Dodge Intrepid)

"We kept working on the car and got it better and better. Putting four tires on at the end really helped us. The team stayed at it all day and we made the necessary changes to get better. We'll take another top 10. The last five races have been very good to us. We haven't dropped out, and we've picked up some points. Any time you get a top 10 anywhere it's a good day. This stuff is hard. We'll take it"

RUSTY WALLACE (No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Intrepid)

"It was kind of a long day. It came down to a strategy thing again. My car was just too tight. That's the problem I had all day. It pushed like crazy. It was really good last night and we started today and it was tight. We got one spring rubber out of the left rear. We needed to get one more, but we just couldn't get to it with the time we had out there. It was a typical strategy deal. I thought my guys did a great job out there today. They played the strategy great this time. Instead of getting caught on gas, we caught them on gas this time. Another top 10 here. I've got a bunch of them here at Indy. I just need to win one now."

STERLING MARLIN (No. 40 Coors Light Dodge Intrepid)

"We had a decent run going. We'd run in the top 10 or top 15 most of the race, and I think we were going to have a pretty good finish, but you've got to make it to the end and we haven't been able to do that lately."
