Elliott Sadler on Indianapolis Motor Speedway: "Indianapolis is such a special place for the sport of racing. As a series, NASCAR has been racing there since 1994 and I can't believe it has been that long. Even after all that time, it's still amazing to get to that track and think about all of the history that has taken place. It goes so far beyond just our series. Some of the true pioneers of racing have competed there and it's always been an honor to strap myself in my car and race. Everyone wants to win so badly there and to have their name in the Indianapolis Motor Speedway record books.
"I can't wait to get in the No. 19 Stanley Ford Fusion this weekend. As important as it is for people to have some down time and for all of the competitors and crew to have some time with their families to relax and recharge, we're all racers and that's what we want to be doing. Knowing that a race like Indy is on the horizon makes you want to get back at it even more. Todd Parrott and I have had some pretty good success together in Indy, so I'm looking forward to seeing what we can do together with our Stanley team this time around."
Todd Parrott on Indy: "I'm looking forward to going there. I was there for the tire test a few weeks back so I have an idea of some things to try and things to do. As far as Indianapolis goes, you have to have a lot of horsepower and a good balanced car. If you can get through the corners fast, then you can get though the straightaway faster, so a good balanced car is very important. This will be the first time I've been to Indy with Elliott since 2005 and the last time we were there together we sat on the pole. A lot of things have changed, obviously, but I think his attitude and the whole team's is pretty good right now. Morale seems to be pretty good and everyone is coming off a fresh weekend. They hit reset on their buttons at home and we're ready to start the second half of this season off on a positive note."
Chassis History: The No. 19 Stanley team has prepared chassis No. 280 for this weekend's event. This Ford Fusion was previously run earlier this season at Atlanta Motor Speedway and Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway. Sadler qualified in the eighth position for the event at AMS.
Notes: This will be the second event in which Todd Parrott will be serving as crew chief for the No. 19 team. Parrott and Elliott worked together several years ago and earned a pole position for the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 2005.
