Menard Ready for Return to Famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway
For Menard, Racing at Indy is a "Dream Come True"

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (July 22, 2008) --Up until last July, Paul Menard had been waiting in great anticipation for the chance to round the 2.5-mile Indianapolis Motor Speedway in a racecar. Now, after turning in a solid top-20 finish in last year's Allstate 400 at the Brickyard, Menard returns for his second start at the historical track.

"My first race at the Brickyard was last year and that was honestly a dream come true," Menard said. "I grew up around the Indy cars racing there and it was always a goal of mine to race there at some point in my career. With that accomplished, I'm going to try and just take it all in this year and battle for a strong finish."

Given that he has a year of racing experience at Indianapolis under his belt, Menard has some specific goals that he hopes to accomplish in this weekend's race.

"We had a solid race last year, coming home 20th," Menard said. "I'm just looking to improve upon that, but to be honest, getting our first top-10 of the year at the Brickyard would be awesome!"

According to Menard's Crew Chief, Doug Randolph, the 15th NASCAR Sprint Cup race being held at Indianapolis Motor Speedway could be the perfect opportunity for the No. 15 car to make its mark on the series by earning a win in Sunday's race.

"This is the sort of track that this team and this driver excel at," Randolph reasoned. "I'd say our first win is definitely within reach. This team has been consistent all year and since we got our first pole at Daytona, the only thing left for us to do is get that first win."

Menard will take to the historical racetrack with long time sponsor, Johns Manville, on the hood of his Chevrolet.

"JM has been a supporter of mine for close to 10 years now," Menard said. "With our history together between the two companies of Menards and Johns Manville for the past several decades, I definitely want to give them a strong showing this weekend."
