Sprague/No. 60 Haas CNC Racing Team add Atlanta Winston Cup event to schedule.

CONCORD, NC (October 16) It was announced today that Jack Sprague and the Haas CNC Racing team will attempt to qualify for the Napa 500 NASCAR Winston Cup event at Atlanta Motor Speedway on October 27. The decision to add the Atlanta venue to their 2002 schedule was made after qualifying was rained out last weekend in Charlotte. It will mark Sprague's second Winston Cup qualifying effort of the season in the No. 60 Haas CNC Racing Chevrolet.

"I'm looking forward to running both races next week in Atlanta," said Sprague who competed in the 1996 NAPA 500 Winston Cup event at AMS. "I ran and Busch and a Cup race there years ago and did pretty good. I qualified 12th for the Winston Cup race and I'm hoping to do the same this time around. The team and I tested the Busch car there a few weeks ago and it was a great test. It was one of the best we've had this year, so I'm hoping we can roll over some of the information we gathered to the Haas car. We're bringing the same car we had in Kansas and Charlotte. It's a good car, so I think we'll do alright."

Sprague and the Haas CNC Racing team are also scheduled to run races at North Carolina Speedway on November 3 and Homestead-Miami Speedway on November 17 as they prepare for the 2003 Winston Cup Rookie season.
