Roush Racing teammate Jeff Burton believes NASCAR'S fine of Kurt Busch is more about inexperience, than rough driving.

Busch, a sophomore Winston Cup driver was recently fined ten thousand dollars for intentional contact with driver Robby Gordon during the Winston All Star event.

In this situation, it was the driver's comments that caused the fine rather than his driving. During post race interviews, Busch indicated that he felt it was" time for a caution", and NASCAR responded by issuing a penalty to the driver for "actions detrimental to the sport of Auto Racing".

A response that Burton thinks is out of context.

"That was just a case of not having the experience of saying the right thing, I don't think he wrecked him, I think he said the wrong thing, He is trying to learn as he goes along and it is in front of everyone" It's not like when I was at South Boston and I would say something dumb over the public address system, my mom would tell me that that sounded stupid", well he is having the same experience just in front of the national media."

Burton continued that these are the problems the younger drivers experience now that they are getting top rides early in their career. Burton explained that traditionally newer drivers did not have the top equipment, and it took longer to get to victory lane. He pointed out that he had several years under his belt to understand how to deal with the intense media scrutiny a drivers receives after becoming successful in the series.

Burton believes that Busch and the other self titled "Young Guns" have a great deal to learn about dealing with the "pressures of success"
