Gordon to be featured on HBO DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (March 11,1998) - The second edition of this season's "REAL SPORTS with Bryant Gumbel," seen exclusively on HBO, will include a profile of NASCAR superstar Jeff Gordon when it airs Monday, March 16 at 10 p.m. EST.
HBO's REAL SPORTS is the Emmy and Cable ACE-winning magazine program that explores issues, controversies and personalities in the sports world.
According to HBO, "Tiger Woods isn't the only twenty-something world-class athlete to have emerged as a dominant force in his sport. Jeff Gordon, who at 25 became the youngest driver ever to win the Daytona 500 last year, is reshaping the sport as he defines his career. Gordon has won a stunning ten races in each of the last two years on the elite NASCAR circuit and captured two NASCAR Winston Cup Series championships in the last three years. REAL SPORTS goes into the pits and the corporate boardroom to profile NASCAR's new king, who is revving up for another sensational year on the tracks."
Sonja Steptoe is the segment's correspondent.
