David Reutimann to Start 26th at Kansas in the #00 Dominos.com Toyota
Kansas City, KS -- David Reutimann, driver of the #00 Dominos.com Toyota in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series for Michael Waltrip Racing, qualified 26th today for Sunday's LifeLock 400 from Kansas Speedway.
The #00 Dominos.com Toyota was 25th fastest in the first practice session, which was on the border line of the teams that had to make it in on time. The #00 Dominos.com team had only a few hours to make the right adjustments in hopes that David could post a fast lap during Bud Pole qualifying.
"The #00 Dominos.com Toyota was not the greatest during the first practice session -- it just felt really nervous on the track, but I had confidence that Frank (Kerr) and the guys would get it better before I took my lap in qualifying", said David Reutimann.
That was exactly the situation. The adjustments made by the #00 Dominos.com team was the right move, as David posted the 26th fastest time in Bud Pole qualifying - easily putting him in the field for Sunday's race.
"It's always a relief when you find out your lap was fast enough -- it feels good. Now the focus will turn to getting the car fast for Sunday. This #00 Dominos.com Toyota has shown promise in a few races this season, so I'm looking forward to having a solid run this Sunday," said David Reutimann.
