Truex Looks to Rebound at Kansas
Mooresville, N.C. (Sep. 23, 2008) -- After finishing 20th in last week's Sprint Cup event at Dover International Speedway, Martin Truex Jr. looks to bounce back at Kansas Speedway, site of Sunday's Camping World RV 400.
"Last week was just the way our season has gone this year," said Truex, currently 15th in NASCAR Sprint Cup points. "We'll have a good run one week and then a bad run the next. In order to be championship contenders next year, we need to be more competitive on a week-to-week basis."
"It's all about getting some wins before the end of the season," continued Truex. "We want to win before the end of the year and start building for 2009. The more progress we can make now, the easier our off-season will be. We know that this Bass Pro/Tracker Boats team can get the job done -- now let's go out and prove it.
"I'm glad we're headed to Kansas. It's a pretty fun track to get around because it has more than one grove. You can be competitive there running both the high lane and the low lane. I feel like we'll be strong this weekend and I know that a good run will do wonders for our morale."
