Robby Gordon's Quotes for Kansas

What about Kansas do you like or dislike?

"I like Kansas because it's one of those mile-and-a-half tracks where we've been able to find some success at this year. We've stepped up our game when it comes to our intermediate program. Whether it's spending more time in the wind tunnel or testing, we have more notes to work off of. If I can keep the wheels on it and we make good, solid adjustments to a race track with a groove that tends move around during the race, we can make a run at a top-five finish."

You fell a few spots in the points thanks to a flat tire and contact with the wall last weekend in Dover, is the team able to rebound and is 20th still a realistic goal?

"It seems like every time we get within reach of the top 20 we get pulled back. We get so close I can almost taste it. Nobody said that it was going to be easy, and we definitely don't have that much time left. We just need to have a couple consistent finishes inside the top 10 and we should make our goal. Our improvement this year has been significant, and we're just looking for more consistency out of everyone including the driver. We realize that DNF's are going to happen no matter how much you prepare or no matter how much information you bring to the track every weekend. If we can eliminate the issues that you can control then we should be a competitive threat week-in-and-week-out."

Harrah's Fast Facts:

* Welcome Back -- Harrah's Entertainment, Inc. is back as the primary sponsor of Robby Gordon's No. 7 Chevy for the seventh time of the 2006 NASCAR Nextel Cup season. Harrah's Entertainment, Inc. and Caesars Entertainment recently merged in the largest transaction in gaming history. The consolidated company now owns or manages through various subsidiaries more than 40 casinos in three countries, primarily under the Harrah's, Caesars and Horseshoe brand names. With nearly four million square feet of casino space, more than 40,000 hotel rooms and nearly 100,000 employees, the Harrah's portfolio is the most diverse in the gaming industry. Menards, Jim Beam and CarLoan.com will serve as associates.

* Chassis -- Robby Gordon will compete in chassis No. 107 at the 1.5-mile oval for this weekend's event. Chassis No. 107 last saw action at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway on August 6th, running inside the top 15 before a late-race accident relegated Gordon to a 35th-place finish. Chassis No. 107 also participated in a test session earlier this year at Kentucky Speedway. Chassis No. 104 will spend its second straight week as back up for this weekend's Banquet 400.

* Points Position -- Relegated to a 41st-place finish at Dover following a tire failure and contact with the SAFER barrier, Gordon fell two spots to 27th in owner and driver points. Gordon is currently tied for 27th with the No. 18 of J.J. Yeley, sits a mere 13 points from 26th and 64 points out of 25th.

* Meet the Driver -- Robby Gordon will sign autographs and visit with fans on Saturday at 12 p.m. and on Sunday at 10 a.m. at the Robby Gordon Motorsports merchandise trailer.
