Loose Condition Relegates Robby Gordon to 42nd Starting Position

KANSAS CITY, KS (Sept. 29, 2006) -- During his qualifying attempt at Kansas Speedway, Robby Gordon spent almost as much time steering to the right as he did to the left. Qualifying with a lap of 31.320 seconds (172.414 mph) at the 1.5-mile D-shaped oval, Gordon will start 42nd thanks to a loose condition that plagued the No. 7 Harrah's Chevy during Friday's qualifying session.

"That was disappointing," said Gordon. "We gave ourselves a lot of work to do tomorrow. We went from one extreme to the other in practice and just went too far on the adjustment to loosen up the car. We had some success over the last couple of when it came to qualifying and I thought we would carry some momentum into this weekend, but that's behind us now. We'll focus on getting the car right during tomorrow's practice sessions and hopefully be able to bring something to the table. We know what we have to on Sunday and we'll start from there and see what happens."
