Kenseth/Logano feud heats up again at Talladega
Matt Kenseth clearly can’t let it go.
After he was dumped on his lid on Lap 181 during a chain-reaction wreck involving 12 cars — including but not triggered by Joey Logano — the driver of the No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota confronted the Team Penske racer as he exited the infield care center at Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday.
Kenseth, who had led 39 laps before his wreck, accused Logano of knocking him out of line earlier in the race which mired the No. 20 back in traffic.
“We got behind a little bit there and I went to pass the 22 (Logano) and he ran me off the race track and lost four or five spots and then got us back there where we didn’t want to be,” Kenseth said. “I don’t know, somebody must have gotten turned out of the top lane and just collected me. I was just going straight and saw a car come from the right side and cleaned our clock.”

The car that eventually finished off Kenseth was Danica Patrick after she was punted by Michael McDowell -- who received an assist from Clint Bowyer.
Logano brushes off confrontation
When reporters asked Logano what Kenseth’s issue was, he simply blew off the questions.
“Not much,” Logano said. “It’s unfortunate. We had a pretty decent car. I wouldn’t say it was the fastest car out there. It took us all day to get towards the front, but we positioned ourselves well at the end there with around 20 to go up there in the front row and in the lead.
“I was proud of what our Shell/Pennzoil team did. We worked hard all day, but unfortunately didn’t end up as well as we’d like to two days in a row. A couple big hits, so I can’t wait to get out of this place.”
Kenseth’s issues with Logano stem from the Chase race at Kansas Speedway last October. The two drivers were battling for the lead. Logano, who had the faster car, moved Kenseth out of the way with eight laps remaining in the race. Kenseth returned the favor two races later at Martinsville Speedway and punted Logano into the wall after the No. 22 had led 207 laps. Kenseth was parked, then suspended for two races.
Things are not calming down
On Sunday, Kenseth suggested the rivalry was not over.
“I thought we were done with that,” Kenseth said. “But maybe we aren’t.”
Sunday was Logano’s second visit to the infield care center. In Saturday’s Xfinity romp, he blocked eventual race winner Elliott Sadler and ended up nose-first into the wall.
Earlier in the Cup race, Logano’s bump-drafting was blamed for the Lap 59 wreck involved Casey Mears, Aric Almirola and Michael Waltrip.
But when pushed again on the Kenseth issue, Logano who finished 25th, replied,“Okay. He can get in line with the rest of them.”
