NOTES:
* This Week's Race Car at Chicagoland Speedway (chassis No. 92) was last run at Dover (6/6/04) starting 37th and finishing 20th. It was also run earlier this season at California Speedway (5/2/04) starting 37th and finishing 21st. Best start -- 17th (Kansas 10/03) Best Finish -- 18th (Michigan 6/02)
* Testing, testing ... Dave Blaney and the AOL Racing team tested Indianapolis Motor Speedway July 19-20 in preparation for the Brickyard 400 on Aug. 8.
* Logistics ... To save time and the AOL truck driver Franky Nester a bit of driving, a second team transporter made the trip to Indianapolis Motor Speedway Tuesday with the team's primary and back-up AOL Chevrolets they will use at NHIS this weekend. The crew will swap out the cars so Nester can leave straight from Indianapolis for the 16 hour trip to Loudon, N.H. By not traveling back to the RCR shop in Welcome, N.C., it will save about 10 hours on the road for the AOL team transporter.
* Up to Speed ... the Siemens 300 will broadcast live beginning at 2 p.m. EDT Sunday, July 25, on TNT, MRN and XM Radio. Qualifying for the Siemens 300 will broadcast live at 3 p.m. EDT Friday, July 23, on SPEED, MRN and XM Radio.
DAVE BLANEY QUOTES:
"I like running at New Hampshire. I think the long flat corners suit my driving style, which should be good for the AOL team. We seem to be right on the verge of a really strong finish, we're working well together and making the right calls to finish good, but we haven't gotten there just yet. I feel very confident it's right around the corner. There are some good tracks coming up that we're looking to run really good and give everybody a run for their money."
On the new green-white-checkered rule:
"To be honest with you, it really doesn't matter to me as a driver. I think it's the right thing to do. It's also the thing the fans want to see. The fans pay money to see us race and want to see the races finish under green. It just makes sense for NASCAR to finish the Nextel Cup races under green."
