Keselowski Wins the Pole at New Hampshire Motor Speedway

LOUDON, N.H. (September 17, 2010) -- Brad Keselowski and the No. 12 Penske/AAA Dodge Charger team led the Penske Racing NASCAR Cup Series qualifying effort for the Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Friday afternoon.

Keselowski will start the 300-lap event from the pole position, his first career NASCAR Cup Series pole award. He toured the one-mile oval in 28.515 seconds, or 133.572 miles per hour. The time and speed were good enough for a new track record and the track celebrating its 20th anniversary. Penske Racing teammates, Kurt Busch and Sam Hornish Jr. will start in 12th and 15th place, respectively.

"I honestly felt that I had a legitimate shot at the pole all along," said Keselowski. "This is such a great shot in the arm to this team. We've had peaks and we've had valleys all year, but we've always known that we are capable of running up front. We had a solid race at Richmond last week and I think that translated to speed immediately off the truck here at New Hampshire. We're going to try to play the spoiler role on Sunday."
