TONY STEWART, NO. 20 HOME DEPOT PONTIAC GRAND PRIX:

YOUR THOUGHTS ON YOUR LAP "It wasn't that good. We thought we'd go out a little better than that, but that's about where we practiced. The best we ran in practice was a thirteen (29.13). I can't put two laps together today - I mean, I run a good lap and I run a bad lap. That was an average lap, I'd say. It wasn't great by any means."

BOBBY LABONTE, NO. 18 INTERSTATE BATTERIES PONTIAC GRAND PRIX:

WERE YOU SURPRISED BY YOUR LAP? "I felt pretty good about our car in that last run that we made on our qualifying attempt in practice, and I thought we could run pretty close to what we ran in practice. I mean, I know we're going to slow down a little bit, but I wasn't totally surprised. I'm real proud of everybody that worked real hard this week to get this car back together and get it here this weekend and work on it today to fine-tune it for a good lap of qualifying. I don't think it will really hold up, but it will get us a good starting spot.

WHEN YOU HAVE TO GO EARLY IN QUALIFYING LIKE THIS, IS EXIT OR ENTRY TO A CORNER THE KEY? "You've just got to be real careful. Obviously when you see other guys go fast, you can say, 'Hey, it's capable.' If you don't see anybody go as fast as they ran in practice, then you've got to be a little careful on entry because you don't know if the track's got all the grip that you had in practice or not. Entry's really the biggest thing."

JOHNNY BENSON, NO. 10 VALVOLINE PONTIAC GRAND PRIX:

"I'm not going to complain. Actually, our first run in practice wasn't that good and we did a lot of work to this Valvoline Pontiac and just got it better and better. I'm real happy with it. No matter where we end up, we're going to be okay for the race. I believe this car is going to race pretty good. I would've sure loved to have had a pole, but we had a couple of guys behind us that were pretty good too, so we'll end up where we end up."
