JERRY NADEAU, NO. 10 VALVOLINE PONTIAC GRAND PRIX (15th):

HOW WAS YOUR LAP? "That was pretty slow compared to what we ran in practice. I imagine going out early didn't help any. But, the guys did a good job and I know we're going to have a great car for Sunday's race, so I'm just looking forward to Sunday."

TONY STEWART, NO. 20 HOME DEPOT PONTIAC GRAND PRIX (12th):

ON PICKING UP SPEED FROM PRACTICE "I had to. I was too slow in practice. I had nowhere to go but faster in qualifying. I don't think I ran two laps the same in practice. The track was a little tricky. It's still the same Loudon, but the apron down there is a little bit different than it has been in the past, so we're just trying to get it figured out.

"We'll see what happens. These guys have worked so hard on these Home Depot Pontiacs. We had a good run last week and we need to just keep that momentum. That's the thing that has been hurting us, is the consistency. That's something that we normally have this time of year. Hopefully we can have a good run this weekend."

KEN SCHRADER, NO. 36 M&M'S PONTIAC GRAND PRIX (20th):

"We fought loose in practice, but we tightened up a little bit too much for qualifying. I drove the boys crazy today. They made a lot of changes on the car.

"We'll be decent. That's not bad for the M&M's Pontiac."

BOBBY LABONTE, NO. 18 INTERSTATE BATTERIES PONTIAC GRAND PRIX (4th):

YOU PICKED UP FIVE TENTHS OF A SECOND ON YOUR SECOND LAP...WHAT WAS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THOSE TWO LAPS? "The first lap was a wreck and the second lap wasn't. Really, the first lap, I just never got heat in the tires really good leaving pit road. I went down into three before I got the green and it was bad. I went down into one and it got real bad again, back into three it got real bad again for the timed lap. It was just too loose. It took a while to get grip into the tires.

"The second lap it definitely came in because the grip came in. It just took a lap for my tires to come in this time, over practice. In practice, it didn't do that."

HOW ABOUT THE NEW 'LOW GROOVE' HERE? "It could be something to use. We'll know more tomorrow in practice. I saw a little bit of the Busch race (in May) and (race winner) Bobby Hamilton, Jr., used it, but really nobody else used it to their advantage. It will be interesting to see how it works, but I don't know yet. We'll find out tomorrow."
