SPEED SCORES TOP 10 IN LOUDON
Put it this way: They agree to disagree.
Red Bull Racing teammates Scott Speed and Brian Vickers, driving cars for different Nationwide Series owners, tangled in turn three on the final lap of Saturday's Camping World RV Sales 200 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
Racing for top-five finishes, Vickers, in Braun Racing's No. 32, slowed slightly while making a move to the inside of Mike Bliss. Speed, carrying more momentum in Michael Waltrip Racing's No. 99 Red Bull Toyota, couldn't check up in time, tagged the rear end of Vickers' car and sent him spinning.
Speed continued on to finish eighth, while Vickers recovered and ended up 12th. It was Speed's third top-10 finish in seven Nationwide starts.
"We all went into the last corner," Speed said, "and (Vickers) just checked up and I couldn't stop in time. Got into the back of Brian and we both went up the track. It's unfortunate for the both of us, but at least we had a great run all day. The Michael Waltrip Racing car was awesome, like always."
"Luckily, we're teammates, and we'll get to talk it out."
UP NEXT FOR SPEED
Zippo 200 at the Glen, Saturday, Aug. 8, Watkins Glen International
