"M&M's" Chocolate Candies Fascinating Fact...

In 1995 "M&M's" gave consumers the opportunity to vote for their favorite color of "M&M's" Chocolate Candies. The choices were blue, pink or purple.

"M&M's" received more than 10 million votes and the winner was...blue.

Ernie Irvan's Michigan Speedway Highlights...

* "M&M's" Racing Team driver Ernie Irvan has an outstanding performance record at Michigan Speedway. Irvan has 10 top-10 finishes including eight top fives at the two-mile Michigan oval in 19 starts. His overall performance at Michigan ranks second only to Talladega of all tracks on the current Winston Cup schedule.

* Irvan's last Winston Cup victory came at Michigan Speedway on June 15, 1997. The emotional win came two years after Irvan suffered a life-threatening crash at the track in August of 1994.

* In addition to 10 top 10s and eight top fives, the driver of the "M&M's" Pontiac also owns a pole position at Michigan Speedway. Irvan and the "M&M's' Racing Team captured the top qualifying position in August of 1998, one of three last season.

* The "M&M's' Racing Team has a solid chance at a top-five or top-10 finish in the 400-mile event. Irvan has five top-10 finishes at Michigan in the last six starts, including four top fives. Irvan's record in the last six starts boasts a win, two fourths, a fifth- and a sixth-place finish.

* The familiar "M&M's" Pontiac will sport a different logo at Michigan Speedway this weekend. Pedigree Brand for Dogs will be on the No. 36 Pontiac to support Michigan's Second Chance for Greyhounds. Pedigree will make a donation to the non-profit adoption organization following the race. M&M/Mars, the manufacturer of "M&M's", is a sister company to Kal Kan Foods, Inc., manufacturer of Pedigree Brand for Dogs.

Ernie Irvan's thoughts on racing at Michigan Speedway... "Michigan has been a really good race track for me. If you take out my accident the track has been great for me. It was the place where I got my first second-place finish, and I've pretty much had an overall good record there. Our season so far has been pretty up and down, and I hope that Michigan will be the place to turn it around."
