NASCAR post-race penalty report after Coca-Cola 600 weekend
While there are some expected penalties, NASCAR has also suspended the senior account manager at 23XI after her arrest over the weekend
Over the course of attempting the Indianapolis 500, Coca-Cola 600 double, Katherine Legg and Live Fast Motorsports suffered a dislodged wheel on Lap 204 of the latter, which drew a penalty from NASCAR on Wednesday.
As per section 8.8.10.4a in the NASCAR Rule Book, losing a wheel was met with two crew members being suspended for the next two races. Specifically, jack man Ian Schultz and tire changer Deiontae Jones will sit out the next two races at Nashville and Michigan respectively, races Live Fast were not tentatively scheduled to race anyway.
Additionally, NASCAR O’Reilly Series race winner Ross Chastain and the JR Motorsports No. 9 had two missing or loose lug nuts at the conclusion of the race on Saturday night at Charlotte Motor Speedway. As per sections 8.8.10.4a and 10.5.2.5g in the NASCAR Rule Book, this was met with a $5000 fine to the organization.
Lastly, 23XI Racing account senior account manager Evanna Howell was arrested on Saturday in Cabarrus County, North Carolina on charges of ‘Assault With a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury.’ Howell has been indefinitely suspended pending the legal process.
