While the Monster Energy Cup Series stages will remain the same following a widely acclaimed rollout of the new format, the sanctioning body made several tweaks to race and stage distances in both the Xfinity and Camping World Truck Series.

At ISM Raceway and Dover International Speedway, stages in the Xfinity Series will change from Lap 60 and Lap 120 in 2017 to Lap 45 and Lap 90 this season. The final stage for both race tracks will be schedule to end on Lap 200.

For the Camping World Truck Series races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the stage lengths will increase from last years Lap 35 in Stage 1 to Lap 40, and from Lap 70 in Stage 2 to Lap 80. Both races will conclude on Lap 134—12 laps or 18 miles shorter than last year’s fall Vegas race.

“Our primary goal every season is providing the best race for our fans, and to that end, we will remain consistent in terms of stage lengths for the majority of our national series events,” said Scott Miller, NASCAR senior vice president of competition. “Last year’s debut of the race format was a strong one, and we look forward to building on that foundation in 2018, starting with Speedweeks at Daytona.”

NASCAR has yet to determine the distance or stage lengths for the Charlotte Motor Speedway Playoff race on the road course.
