NASCAR to review Kyle Busch and Joey Logano fight - video

NASCAR will review TV and video footage of a post-race fight between drivers Kyle Busch and Joey Logano, a NASCAR spokesman confirmed to Motorsport.com.

Immediately after the conclusion of the race, Busch walked briskly down pit road to where Logano had parked his No. 22 Team Penske Ford.

Busch walked directly up to Logano and threw a right punch that appeared to connect. The two drivers got tangled together in a fight and fell to the ground. Several NASCAR officials on hand grabbed a hold of Busch and pulled him away from the fight.

As Busch was escorted away, he appeared to be bleeding from a cut on his face.

Neither driver nor their teams were called to the NASCAR hauler after the race, but Logano’s crew chief, Todd Gordon, and Travis Geisler, Penske’s NASCAR competition director, both requested a meeting with NASCAR officials after the race.

Busch made a quick visit to the infield care center before leaving the track and did not stop to speak to a Performance Racing Network reporter.

Asked to describe the incident, Logano said, “There wasn’t much talking, there was a lot of swinging. I don’t know. I was racing hard there at the end with our Pennzoil Ford. Kyle and I usually race really well together,” he said.

“We usually never have any issues, and he tried to pin me down into the corner underneath Brad (Keselowski) and we about crashed on entry, and then I was still trying to gather it up by the center and I was gonna spin out, so I’m trying to chase it up and he was there.

“It obviously wasn’t anything intentional, but obviously he thinks that, so, I don’t know, we’ll get by.”

Keselowski was leading with two laps remaining when a mechanical problem developed on his car, which allowed Truex to move to the lead. Keselowski began to slow on the track and drifted high up the track to the outside.

As he came upon Busch and Logano racing for position, Busch appeared to come down on Logano, making contact with the right side of his car. As Logano entered the next corner, his car drifted up the track and into Busch, which caused Busch to spin out.

Logano finished fourth while Busch, who rallied to contend for the win after an early-race pit road speeding penalty, finished 22nd.

Fox Sports got a brief interview with Busch after he left the center.

"I got dumped. He flat-out just drove straight into the corner and wrecked me," Busch said. "That's how Joey races. He's going to get it."
