TONY STEWART, NO. 20 HOME DEPOT MONTE CARLO SS - Qualified 13th
How do you look at this weekend after finishing third here in June?
"Obviously it's a recovery weekend. We need a good weekend. We have had one good weekend out of the last five weeks, so we need a good run. Everything will be all right again. We've just got to get caught up."
What do you make of the last five weeks?
"It's just called bad luck. We're not launching the space shuttle here. Some days you have good days, and we've just had four bad days out of five."
How do you look at your current position in the points?
"I don't. I don't worry about it. I'm worried about winning Pocono this weekend and taking a week off and then going to win the Brickyard. I really don't look at it right now."
You've got a lot of people who aren't even questioning the fact that you'll be back in the top 10
"We aren't either. I'm not worried about it, I'm not going to talk about it, because there's so much that can happen between now and then. One week is not going to make or break you right now."
How aggressive can you afford to be with seven races left until the Chase?
"We have to go out and do what we do every week. We're not changing anything. We're just going to go out and try to win the race like we always do. That's been our approach for 27 years now, so we're not going to try and reinvent the wheel. If you win races, the points take care of themselves. That's the easiest way to go out and get maximum points, win the race."
On his qualifying Lap:
"I'll take that. That's better than I thought I was going to run. The track cooled off a little bit when the clouds came over, so I'm pretty excited. That's a good lap for us."

JEFF BURTON, NO 31 CINGULAR WIRELESS MONTE CARLO SS - Qualified 6th
"I felt like I left a little bit in one and a little bit in three, but it was a good lap for our Cingular Chevrolet. The car drove perfect, so when a car drives perfect, I can't ask for more. It was a good lap for us.
"I talked to Kevin (Harvick) after he had made his run and he told me stuff that gave me a lot of confidence in some of the things we had incorporated in the setup. Good lap. Maybe if I would have been a little braver, we would have gotten the pole."
On the setup difference between June and July at Pocono
"Typically the track is quite a bit different between the spring and summer race. The weather is kind of wierd in that it is a little bit cloudy then gets sun. We are similar but we aren't the same by any means. We have things that are quite a bit different thinking that it will be a little more slick. We worked on that this morning. We feel pretty good about the car. There are about four or five cars like they are right about the same and we are going to have to figure out in front of them."

BRIAN VICKERS, NO. 25 GMAC MONTE CARLO SS - Qualified 4th:
"We would love to get that first win here. We have come so close, we have really been fast here. I am so proud of this GMAC Chevy team, they have been working so hard. Man, we were so close to that pole today. I really wanted to get that pole this year out of the way so we are in the shootout next year. So close, but not close enough.
"We got everything out of the car it felt like. I think we lost that whatever it was, two one-hundreths of a second or so off the pole, I got back in the gas off turn three and got about half way down the straight and started to lose the nose and I had to pause for a second to let it settle down. It could have been that much time, it could have been somewhere else I don't know. The car was good. I felt like it was a good lap and I came on the radio and told the guys it was good and we got just about all of it and asked where we were. But we just missed it by a little."
