No.10 The Valvoline Grand Prix that driver Johnny Benson will be running is the primary car the team planned to run at Richmond (Sept.) before a crash in practice forced the team to go to a back-up car.

No.14 Phoenix has been like a second home to Team Conseco driver Ron Hornaday, a Palmdale, Calif., native. He'll be running a car he has driven on four previous occasions including the Bristol and Dover spring races as well as at Chicago.

No.18 Defending Winston Cup champion Bobby Labonte has two consecutive top-five finishes here at Phoenix International Raceway. He will be running the same car he drove to a fourth-place finish two weeks ago at Martinsville. This chassis has also been driven to a sixth-place finish at Richmond (Sept.) and a seventh-place run at New Hampshire (July).

No. 20 Home Depot Pontiac driver Tony Stewart recorded the second Winston Cup win of his career here at Phoenix in 1999, and he comes into this race third in the Winston Cup points standings. He'll be making the 100th start of his career in a car he's running for the third time. This car ran in Martinsville two weeks ago and at last year's Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis.

No.36

Ken Schrader will be a busy man at Phoenix this weekend as he will compete in four different races - the Southwest Tour race on Thursday, the Craftsman Truck race on Friday, the Busch race on Saturday before Sunday's Checker Auto Parts 500. The Pontiac Grand Prix he'll run in the Winston Cup race he's driven twice this year, starting ninth in it at the New Hampshire International Speedway in July and finishing ninth at Richmond in May, its second start in 2001.
